Our Equipment
MedX for Efficient, ‘Slow
Burn’ Resistance Workouts
MedX manufactures advanced fitness, sports and medical/rehabilitation
equipment:
- Resistance curves matched to proven stretch profiles
maximize efficiency
- Flexible resistance levels (in 2lb increments)
enable rapid, steady progress
- Biomechanical precision and low-friction operation
optimize range of motion
Rehabilitative Exercise
Arthur Jones, former chair of Nautilus Sports/Medical
Industries, Inc., founded MedX Corporation in 1986.
His goal was to perfect the first meaningful tools
for testing human functional ability, strength, muscular
endurance and ranges of joint motion.
His MedX machines met the standard: giving the medical
community the first tools capable of producing specific
and accurate tests of functional ability, combined
with rehabilitative exercise features. The machines,
available through physician referrals, helped thousands
of people reduce or eliminate body pain.
Following the development of the medical units, MedX
engineers applied their knowledge to a full line of
exercise-only machines intended for general use:

Patented Compound
Weight Stack
20lb base plates combine with nine 2lb plates in
the upper stack to accommodate both gradual increases
and up to 1,200lbs of total resistance.
Safe Stroke
Every element of the machine drive train is designed
to achieve vertical weight stack movement of
only one foot on a full-range repetition; about
half of what other equipment produces. Reducing
inertia enhances safety.
Reduced Strain
The unique design of MedX equipment places the
weight stack approximately 18 inches off the
ground, reducing or eliminating the need to
bend down to pin the resistance.
Low-Friction Function
MedX equipment offers smooth action, thanks to
the low-friction, low inertia design that incorporates
ball bearings throughout.
Bacteria-Resistant
Finish
High-grade MedX upholstery features PreFixx protective
finish. This bacteria-resistant fabric meets
federal flammability specifications and Life
Safety Code Standards, while providing the utmost
in user comfort and body support. |
