FAQ
What
is ‘super slow’ resistance
training?
Super slow resistance training is characterized by
slow repetition speeds, compared to traditional resistance
training methods. By minimizing acceleration, you reduce
the force the body is exposed to during exercise and
improve muscular loading. Super slow is super efficient.
Your workout typically consists
of one set of 2-8 exercises (often compound movements)
performed with little rest between. The 10-second
lift/10-second lower repetition cycles are safer and
more effective than conventional repetition speeds.
Is the ‘super slow’ workout
safe for beginners?
The slow repetition protocol was developed as a rehabilitation
method, then later modified for personal training. This
safe and efficient mode of exercise is beneficial to
people working around injuries or conditions requiring
extra caution, and may be useful for practicing proper
form when learning new exercises.
How often do I train?
Maximum Results clients train twice a week, for 30-minutes.
Each session is a total body workout that emphasizes
intensity and effectiveness over volume. When
training, the harder and more effective something is,
the less you have to do it.
In today's fast-paced world,
do you really want to spend hours in the gym for sub-par
results? In just one
hour a week, you can achieve Maximum Results.
What kind of results can I expect?
Maximum Results clients begin to notice strength gains
and a general feeling of wellness almost immediately.
Clients report other positive effects, including:
Better sleep
Greater stamina and energy
Increased cardiovascular fitness
Increased fat loss
Increased metabolic output (burning calories at rest)
Increased mobility, flexibility and balance
Increased muscle tone
Reduced injuries
Stronger bones
What sets Maximum Results apart from the average
gym?
Our quiet, climate-controlled training studio is an
innovation in training. By limiting noise, visual
distraction and outside interruption, we offer a perfect
environment for some of the most intense, efficient
and effective exercise experiences in Virginia.
Every Maximum Results client
trains one-on-one with a certified trainer. When you’re
at Maximum Results, the center, the trainer and the
equipment is all yours!
What is MedX equipment and why is it better?
Biomechanical precision and low-friction operation make
MedX state-of-the-art. MedX strength training machines
operate at a very low level of friction and offer a
choice of resistance in 2lb increments. This maximizes
your ability to set the correct weight for rapid and
steady progress.
How do I get started?
Maximum Results offers a free one-hour consultation.
We begin the session by reviewing your health and exercise
histories. We’ll talk about your fitness goals
and how Maximum Results can help you.
Then, we pair you with a certified
Maximum Results trainer. In a one-on-one setting, you
will experience our high-efficiency, slow burn workout – and
decide for yourself if Maximum Results is right for
you.
How long will I keep
getting results?
How long will you keep working out? The Maximum Results
exercise protocol is based on muscle failure, not specific
weights and reps. Most weight training programs
are based on traditional progressive overload principles.
That’s why most people find themselves on a periodic
fitness “plateau.”
With Maximum Results, muscle
failure is the key! Weight
does not matter, as long as your muscle fibers
have been fully exercised. And, because we can take
small 2lb incremental jumps, Max Results trains you
more precisely, more efficiently.
How is scheduling determined?
Maximum Results is not a public gym. In order to accommodate
every client’s schedule, we set appointments
to guarantee that our clients get the attention and
results they deserve.
Cancellations are not a problem! We do ask for 24-hour
notice. Everyone has a busy life, and we try to be as accommodating
as possible. We want you in twice a week – and are
even willing to stay past normal hours to make sure you
get Maximum Results.
Does Maximum Results offer incentive programs?
Yes! Maximum Results offers many ways to earn free sessions. Our programs
change constantly, but they run all year long. Ask your personal Max Results
trainer for details. |
